Retaining Rings

Retaining rings, sometimes referred to as snap rings are commonly used to retain or position a part on a shaft or within an assembly.

Michigan Spring and Stamping utilizes state of the art manufacturing equipment specifically designed and built to coil precision retaining rings to exacting tolerances. Our machines use laser technology to check ring flatness and gap to insure our customers get the best possible retaining rings available.

Coiled rings most often provide cost advantages over stamped rings by eliminating the blanked scrap, the hardening process cost and minimizing tooling expense.

Michigan Spring and Stamping is capable of producing rings with inner diameters ranging from 1.0” (25.4mm) to 7.0” (177.8mm). A wide variety of gap configurations and notches at the ring gap are available.
